Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) An optical-control-gated erbium doped opucal fiber amplifler(OCG-EDFA) is presented for providing attactive optically-active-device, applicable to various type of optical circuitry. Due to the gain-clumping effect OCG-EDFA responds like an inverting device for control input given through second inlet prepared using one of WDM channels with different from the primary signals in wavelength. The device exhibits a dynamic range of 18dB in controlling for the control power of around 1mW. The usage of the device in optical circuit designing is merely definable as an optical amplifier having a control gate on al1-optical base. Some impressive examples of applications are demonstrated using feed-back and feed-forward circuits by means of numerical simulation.
