Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The next generation mobile communication systems such as FPLMTS(Future Public Land Mobile Telecommunication Systems)are studied by many researchers and standardization groups. In the FPLMTS, the new network capabilities and services including multimedia communication, soft-handover, micro/pico cells and multicall/connection services will be supported. In this paper, we first clarify the impacts of these new capabilities and services to the handover performance. After that we propose a new harldover method to decrease its processing delay. In the proposed method, the handover connection setup process is divided into network connection setup part and the radio connection setup part, and the network connection is established before the handover request.
