Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) To increase the capacity of switching systems, frequency division multiplexing is a promising technology in photonic switching. We developed frequency broadcast-and-select type photonic ATM switch. In the switch, optical and electrical buffers are composed and fewer optical buffers are needed because of sharing the buffering load with electrical buffers. This paper describes the fast frequency selector with separate output ports for our photonic ATM switch. It is combined with passive frequency routers and semiconductor optical gates, which can fast select from a larger number of frequency channels. Efficient connecting frequency routers and optical gates save the number of devices.
