Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A packet switching protocol in a WDM-based optical network using a passive star topology is proposed. In the proposed protocol, one time slot is divided into minislots and a message is organized with short-length Packets. Packets are transmitted simultaneous1y within one time slot. We evaluate throughput and the average system delay under uniform traffic by computer simulation. As the results, it is shown that the proposed protocol is useful to support variable-sized messages efficiently without degrading throughput and delay performance.
