Abstract(in English) | PLC (Planar Lightwave Circuit) Platforms have received much attention from the viewpoints of hybrid integration of optical waveguides and active devices with high-performance and potentially low-cost modules reported by NTT for optical WDM transceivers applied for subscriber access networks. The fabrication process of a PLC platform has been developed, such as the processes including a silica-waveguide and an electrode formation in a pre-selected area are formed on a terraced silicon substrate to be passively aligned with active devices. The fabrication tolerance of a film filter embedded WDM on a PLC platform has been investigated in correlation with waveguide patterns and parameters relative to the PLC platform properties. |
