Alternate Route Control for ATM Switching System

Abstract(in English) Improved ATM switch performance, function and reliability are becoming necessary due to the increasing variety, faster speeds, and larger sizes of services provided over ATM networks. One of the necessary reliability is fast reroute on PVC connection. The Pre-Cut/Reroute is the function which is used to reroute an existing connection to an alternate circuit. Also, these functions are automatically realized by the ATM switching system and NMS. This paper reports such alternate route control which the ATM switch provides as Pre-Cut/Reroute.
