Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We investigated that the heat resistance behavior of UV-curable urethane acrylate resin widely used as optical fiber coatings and optical fibers with the coatings. The relationship between the molecular structure and properties such as Young's modulus, breakage elongation and yellowing of the coatings after heat aging. Optical loss of the fibers and coated with these primary coatings and ribbons were measured after three month aging at 90℃. Fiber strength, adhesion of primary coatings to the glass, and the strippability were also measured. We then calculated the discernibility life span of fiber ribbons based on yellowing values of the ribbon coatings aged at five levels ranging.
