Abstract(in English) | Passive optical components are becoming more important for WDM (Wavelength Division Multiplex) transmission system and access network system. Reducing PDL (Polarization Dependent Loss) of the optical components is required in the signal wavelength range for the WDM transmission use. In this report we present new methods as a PDL reducing technique for fused tapered fiber couplers. The PDL is measured for the manufacured 1.48μm/1.55μm WDM couplers and the effectiveness of the methods is confirmed. |
