Abstract(in English) This letter theoretically and experimentally shows that the carrier to noise ratio (CNR) of subcarriers improves and the number of the multipliable optical signals widely increases in the subcarrier multiple access systems using the laser diodes (LDs) with the same center optical-frequency by applying our proposed method to reduce optical beat interference, which uses the multiplication of the subcarriers and an additional signal. As the experimental results using 1.3μm DFB-LDs, the multipliable signals number became zero to three by using the proposed beat-interference reduction technique. Theoretically, the optical signals that can be transmitted increase when the LDs with wider optical linewidth are used. Combining the beat-interference reduction technique and WDM, the very high-dense optical multiple access can be realized.
