Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Dispersion design in a singlemode optical fiber is investigated experimentally and numerically to generate supercontinuum with flatly broadened spectrum. It is found to be important both that group velocity dispersion is a convex function with two zero-dispersion wavelengths and that it decreases with fiber length. A calculated spectrum well explains the experimentally obtained one. The spectral evolution of supercontinuum is found to consist of two stages: initial spectral broadening caused by adiabatic soliton compression and subsequent spectral flattening caused by transition from nonlinear pulse to dispersive wave.
