Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We propose a novel level controlled hybrid EDFA for WDM transmission systems. To evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed EDFA, a numerical simulation is carried out for 12 WDM channels over 11 nm wavelength range form 1547 to 1558 nm. For a hybrid EDFA consisting of Ge-doped EDF and Al-doped EDF, the maximum fluctuation of output power and the gain imbalance are only 0.3 dB and 0.7dB at the input power range from -25 to -10 dBm/ch.
