Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) It is vitally important to flatten and broaden the gain spectrum of Er^<3+>-dored fiber amplifiers (EDFAs) in order to construct efficient WDM network systems with high transmission capacity. In this Paper, we report the recent progress in gain flattening for 1.55 μm-band EDFA, and newly developed ultra-broadband EDFA which are based on either the parallel configuration of 1.55 μm-band and 1.58 μm-band gain-flattened EDFAs or the tellurite-based EDFA.
