Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Graded-index optical waveguides capable of parallel image transmission have become indispensable in order to realize an all-optical computer. Here we have theoretically discussed about filtering characteristics and spatial impulse response of a graded-index optical waveguide usable for one dimensional spatial image transmission. The device proposed is a Ti in-diffused LiNbO_3 waveguide. To restore both on- and off-aixis point image, we designed the Wiener filter. It was clear that one dimensional images with spatial frequency of 1/5μm, transmitted within a range of 80μm, could be successfully restored. Finally with the purpose of checking the results we carried out experiments towards fabrication of a Ti in-diffused LiNbO_3 waveguide.
