Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) One of the most developed optical technology is ultra short pulses in the region of femto seconds. Problems of generating ultra short pulses in femto seconds is important and by femto second pulses, ultra fast optical communication and ultra high speed computation are accomplished in the field of optical communication and information processing. However, coherence characteristics of femto second pulses are not complete, and partial coherence analysis of ultra short optical pulses is indispensable for development of high bit rate communications. In case of femto second pulse propagation in optical fibers, dispersions and nonlinearities of optical fibers are important factors. In this paper, statistical electromagnetic theory of ultra short pulses in optical fibers are shown, including of dispersion and nonlinear characteristics, and this theory contribute to fundamental study of ultra fast optical communication.
