Abstract(in English) In this paper, we describe the application of a nonlinear optical loop mirror (NOLM) to an all-optical time-division demultiplexer in optical time-division multiplexing (OTDM) transmission systems. All-optical time-division demultiplexers should be equiped with three basic operation characteristics: 1) ultrafast operation at speeds of over 100 Gbit/s, 2) polarization independent operation which is a major obstacle in real systems where the state of signal polarization fluctuated, and 3) demultiplexing operation without any loss of the OTDM channels. Techniques and new configurations based on the NOLM enable to realize the three basic operation characteristics are proposed and experimentally confirmed.
