Abstract(in English) This paper discusses the future targets and key technologies for an optical fiber line remote testing system, AURORA, for fiber-optic subscriber loops. We shows the upgrading scenario for AURORA based on the analyses for the present status and future targets with regard to system performance and cost and several technical solutions for an advanced future system. We also discuss highly functional technologies in relation to testing systems for passive double star (PDS) fiber networks, cable strain measurement using Brillouin OTDR and AI process technologies.
