Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Application of Digital Signal Processing(DSP) technologies to satellite communications is stated. Advent of the fast DSP chip enabled application of DSP technologies to many radio systems including communications satellite. Possibility of FFT to whole transponder bandwidth introduced frequency domain switching. Frequency domain switching is possible by simple rearrangement of frequency samples obtained by FFT. Also, digital beam forming for more than hundreds of beams with hundreds of array element is become possible by implementing DSP. By all these technologies, it was stated that, a satellite cellular system with extremely large number cells will be implemented in the near future.
