Abstract(in English) | Two types of new hierarchical image coding methods are proposed in this paper. For the quick editing of videos/images, the one type of the proposed methods separates the input image into two parts : One is the rate-controlled part, and the other is the lossless part. The other type is eff icient for the improvement of efficiency of the lossless coding in 're-editing' by the conditioning on the tr ansform used in the encoder. Rate control in the sense that the amount of data after coding can be estimated is possible for this type. To verify the efficiency of the proposed methods, we provide some simulations. From the simulations, it is shown that the proposed methods are useful in the editing compared with the coding methods which are not hierarchical. |
