Performance of Forward Link Broadband Packet TD-OFCDM with Iterative Channel Estimation

Abstract(in English) This paper presents the performance of forward link broadband packet TD-OFCDM (Time Division-Orthogonal Frequency and Code Division Multiplexing) with iterative channel estimation using both pilot and decision-directed data symbols. Computer simulation demonstrated that, using the iterative channel estimation with the frame structure where the pilot symbols are time-multiplexed at both the beginning and the end of packet, (1) the required average received E_b/N_o for average packet error rate (PER)=10^<-2>can be decreased approximately 1.5dB and (2)TD-OFCDM can still achieve approxi-mately 1.5 fold larger capacity than TD-MC/DS-CDMA (Time Division-Multicarrier/DS-CDMA) at average received E_b/N_o of 10dB, in a 24-path Rayleigh fading channel with the most delayed path of approximately 1μsec for a single-cell environment.
