A Study of Transcription of Musical Voice Sound using Parallel Connected Comb Filters

Abstract(in English) We have proposed the pitch estimation method using comb filters for the automatic transcription systems. In this paper, we apply the proposed method to musical voice sounds. The comb filter corresponding to one pitch eliminates the fundamental frequency and its harmonic frequencies. Therefore, we can estimate the pitch name by detecting the zero outputs of 12 comb filters connected in parallel. Changing the filter order of the comb filter, the octave number can be also estimated by detecting the zero output. We have carried out some computer simulations with our algorithm. As a result, it is clear that the proposed method is useful to estimate the pitch of the musical voice sound.
