Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) By spreading of the Internet and the advance in digital techniques, it is possible to copy and edit multimedia data. These situations cause the illicit actions such as interception, duplication, misuse and unauthorized modification of information. One approach to address the problem is watermarking technique. Watermarking is a technique to embed hidden information imperceptibly in multimedia contents. In this paper, we outline a new color image watermarking technique using Fresnel transform. The watermark image is Fresnel-transformed and the resulting intensity pattern is embedded in the luminance components of an original image. Experiments of watermarking and its robustness against JPEG compression have shown the validity of our proposed technique.
