Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | The concept of diversity in space using adaptive array antennas at the base stations of wireless communication systems have long been debated, and have demonstrated great ability in increasing system capacity, as well as suppressing interferences from undesired users. This paper shows that implementing array antennas at both the base and mobile stations in a cellular CDMA system results in a substantial increase in capacity. Such is realized only with transmission of signal to multiple direction. The concentration of transmit power to one direction provide no improvement. |
