Bit-Stream Data Processing and its Applications

Abstract(in English) Bit-stream data processing technique is proposed to realize various kinds of digital signal processing systems with sigma-delta based analog / digital and digital / analog converters. The processing technique requires no singlebit / multi-bit conversions and small data routing areas. New arithmetic circuits which add or multiply bit-stream data directly consist of smaller number of logic gates than conventional multi-bit arithmetic circuits. Because of these advanteges, the bit-stream data processing systems can be implemented on smaller LSI chips compared to multi-bit digitala processing systems with Nyquist sampling rate. As an application of the processing technique to the digital signal processing for communications, a QPSK demodulator is presented.
