Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This report describes a fast motion estimation method which searches the motion vectors in motion adaptive order. The estimation in full-accuracy starts around the predicted motion vector. This technique can reduce 30% of block-matching computation in the frames with fast motion. As a result of implementation on the processor with multimedia instruction set, the area deterministic search order switching method, in which the search order is preset for each partitioned search areas, reduces 15% of clock count.
