Modified DHCP Considering the Clients' Dynamic Geografical Distribution for Wireless IEEE1394

Abstract(in English) Recently,research about a wireless version of the IEEE1394 standard has become very active. In transition from a wired system to wireless one, frequent changes in the connective condition occurs. As this changes take place also the number of bus-resets increases. In this paper, we propose to apply DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) in the wireless part of Wireless IEEE1394. This proposal copes with the changes in the connective condition in the wireless part by assigning the IP address by using DHCP. The proposed scheme makes it possible to reduce the number of bus-resets in the whole network. Moreover, this paper describes that we can make good use of address resources at the same time by making the address that each DHCP server saves, change dynamicaly with the distribution of mobile clients.
