Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) ATM networks are designed to obtain high resource utilization by means of statistical multiplexing of traffic resource, but require new kinds of bandwidth management and traffic control. Particularly, self-similarity and long-range dependence, that characterize the bursty nature of the traffic pattern, have been point out as a very predominant. characteristic in the network statistical measurements. In order to achieve an efficient resource utilization, in this work we present a Dynamic Resource Allocation model that employs input traffic future mean prediction and self-similar parameter estimation. The performance of the proposed model, in term of allocated bandwidth while guarantee the cell loss probability, have been evaluated by mathematical solutions and simulations.
