Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper describes a cell loss approximation of heterogeneous asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) traffic under the peremptory delay priority control (to always read out high priority class cells whenever the high priority buffer is not empty). This approximation can be applied to heterogeneous traffic which consists of different burst types in each delay class of which burst lengths generate a General distribution. In this model, the peremptory delay priority control is modeled with an integral equation which describes influence of a high class queue distribution to a low class queue distribution. With the aide of the subspace and integral equation approach in the linear filter theories, we approximated queue distributions with the orthogonal projection to the subspace spanned with the exponential function. From this approximation, we concluded that the high delay priority traffic does not decrease the multiplex gain in buffer (that is dominant gain for large buffer switches) of the low delay priority traffic through it decrease the multiplex gain in bandwidth. Comparisons with simulation results showed that worst traffic type in cell loss probability were within or close to 95% confidence intervals.
