Abstract(in English) | For Multi-media mobile radio communication systems, it is a key issue to achieve high-speed data transmission and high quality of services simultaneously. Thus, it is important to cope with path diversity gain at relatively small hardware complexity in the presence of wide spread intersymbol interference(ISI). This paper discusses a list-output Viterbi equalizer(LVE) employing a metric-criteria combining(MCC), which weighted-combines the squared Euclidean metric and the modified metric proposed by Ungerboeck. First, this paper evaluates hardware implementation aspects of LVEs. Next, this paper also discusses performance aspects of the metric criteria. Finally, it is confirmed by computer simulation that MCC-LVEs can cope with path diversity gain at relatively small hardware complexity in the presence of wide spread ISI. |
