Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A very low bit rate coding method of LPC using ergodic HMM is newly proposed. In this system, ergodic HMM is used to interpolate LSP coefficiets which is segmented, and the optimal state sequence is searched which minimizes the distortion. In order to decrease the distortion, the proposed model quantizes the frame on the segment edge with VQ, and other frames are restored by using Ergodic HMM. And in order to reduce the bit rate with little increase of distortion, the arcs of the HMM are pruned. In this paper, several experiments were carried out to evaluate the basic ability of the proposed method. As a result, the proposed method was able to quantize LSP coefficients at 514 bps, where the cepstral distortion was 2.39 dB.
