Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper presents a study of blind deconvolution using an information maximization approach developed by Bell and Sejnowski. The algorithm is primarily validated using a white noise source which exhibits good results. The algorithm is then applied to a speech source which exposes weaknesses in the basic assumptions used in the algorithm development. A pre-processing technique is proposed to increase the robustness of the information maximization approach and it's effectiveness is evaluated using the Signal-to-Deviation Ratio(SDR) between the original signal and the reconstructed speech waveform. From experimental results, the proposed method was found to increase the SDR of the reconstructed signal by about 12dB.
