Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We propose a speech spectral estimation technique, in which log spectrum is represented by arbitrary basis functions. In the case where m-th basis function is given by m-stage cascade of a first-order all-pass transfer function, the proposed spectral estimation technique is equivalent to a mel-cepstral analysis technique which we have proposed. Further, we can represent speech spectra more efficiently with an appropriate choice of the basis functions. In this paper, we adopt a set of basis functions which is defined by using a second-order all-pass transfer function. A subjective performance test of vocoded speech and an HMM-based phoneme recognition experiment show the effectiveness of the proposed technique.
