Appropriate extraction of lip shape for speech recognition using fusion of visual and auditory information

Abstract(in English) We purpose improving accuracy of visual feature for speech recognition using fusion of visual and auditory information. We extract of lip shape using difference histogram of HSI value and reduce noise. Next, we make up for lip outline to extract visual feature for speech recognition. We calculate coefficient of spline function for lip outline and perform speech recognition using fusion of visual and auditory information. The proposed method shows good extraction of lip shape and lip outline, and speech recognition is improved.
