A Study on Region Detection in Color Image

Abstract(in English) In this paper, we describe a method to detect a region from color image by using Active Net. In a conventional method, the Active Net had been applied once to color similarity map which is evaluated by color distribution function. Then, a method using Active Net in two steps is proposed. Namely, Active Net is applied to color similarity map which is shrunk, and from that result, a region is detected by applying Active Net to original map again. We confirm the validity of our approach by experiment which was conducted using road scene image.
