Abstract(in English) We have proposed a VLSI implementation method of LMS adaptive filters using distributed arithmetic. In this paper, we find out that the adaptive function space has a property of odd-symmetry in our proposed implementation method, so we propose a half-memory algorithm which only needs a half amount of the adaptive function space, by making good use of this property. Further, we propose a new implementation method using this half-memory algorithm. As a result, we show that this new implementation method can have about double the convergence speed when compared to our proposed implementation method with full-memory, without increasing power dissipation and amount of hardware.
