Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This article considers the selection of synthesis filter bank in subband adaptive filtering. Subband adaptive filtering is known to provide an efficient method for reducing the computational complexity when the order of the unknown system is very high, e.g., some thousand taps. When subband adaptive system is applied, adaptive characteristics, such as optimum filter coefficients or the value of least mean square error, depend on the filter banks used for the system. Theoretical consideration of the dependence of those adaptive characteristics, therefore, must be considered in order to improve them. This article analyzes the dependence of the overall error of the system on the synthesis filter bank. A criterion for selection of the synthesis filter bank is described. We show that under this criterion, paraunitary filter bank is superior than other filter banks.
