Simulated Annealing Estimation of Sinusoidal Signal in Noise

Abstract(in English) Estimating the sinusoidal signals in additive noise is very important in signal processing applications, and a lot of techniques are available. We have been working on the application of Simulated Annealing (SA) to the frequency estimation of a sinusoid buried in noise. It is found in our previous work that it generally gives very good estimation accuracy, but it works very poor when SNR is small. In this paper, we propose a novel error functon to improve the estimation accuracy in case of small SNR values. Simulation results are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of SA using the proposed error function.
