An Experimental Study of Antenna Directivity Switching and Space Diversity at Base Station for Downlink Control Channels

Abstract(in English) In TDD systems, such as PHS, transmission diversity is applied to down link traffic channel. However, it can not be applied to down link control channel, such as broadcasting and paging channels. New transmission schemes are proposed to improve the quality of down link control channel. The proposed schemes are multiple transmission with antenna directivity switching, multiple transmission with space diversity and multiple transmission with a single antenna. In this paper, the effect of these schemes is confirmed by a field experiment in practical environment.
