Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In land mobile satellite communications, the frequent blocking of satellite link caused by shadowing is main problem. In this paper, the propagation measurement result of land mobile communication is analysed with a satellite in a high angle of elevation in different environments. From this measurement of ETS-VI satellite, which has a sub recurrent orbit and 10-20 degrees higher angle of elevation than that of a geostationary satellite, the shadowing probability is proved to become lower in accordance with higher satellite angle of elevation. Moreover, the cumulative distribution of the fade duration(FD), which is unavailable duration of communication and the non-fade duration(NFD), which is available duration, are analysed to verify that the use of high angle of elevation has significant advantage in land mobile satellite communications.
