Satellite Constellation and Performance of Communications Network with Store and Forward Low Earth Orbit Satellites

Abstract(in English) For the satellite communications network consisting of twelve satellites with store and forward functions which are assigned to six inclined orbits, six and twelve polar orbits, the mutual relationship between the satellite constellation and performance is indicated and evaluated. It becomes obvious from the evaluated results that the inclined orbits are characterized by a high visible time percentage of satellites and a short waiting time to visible satellites at earth stations located in the region of low and medium latitude, and that the polar orbits provide a short transmission time for exchanging messages between earth stations.
