Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Time resolution in finding the delay between two input channels is one of the important issues in estimating direction of arrival (DOA) using 2-channel signals. In this paper, a technique for channel delay estimation using zero-crossing information is described. The procedure is (1) zero-crossing time sequences are extracted from upsampled signals, and (2) the cannel delay is calculated where the cross-correlation is maximum. The experimental results using multi channel signals recorded by a microphone arrary show that the performance of the proposed method is equally as well as the waveform cross-correlation method under clean and noisy conditions. In the case, smoothing for zero-crossing time sequence and frame-by-frame processing were effective.
