Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Optical video distribution systems employing optical heterodyne AM/FM converter have been considered to achieve high sensitivity in multi-channel video transmission. In this paper, we describe the design of a Si-bipolar fully monolithic FM demodulator IC for realizing small size, low power, high reliability and low cost ONU. To achieve high lineality of FM/AM conversion in a wide frequency range, feedback technique is introduced to the amplifier and the delay line FM demodulator circuit. The fabricated IC achieved high-gain and high linearlity of frequency-voltage conversion in the wide range of 1-5GHz. Power dissipation is 1.1W with a dc power supply of -5V. The IC chip size is 1.3×2.Omm^2.
