Removal of Mixed Noise by Data-Dependent LWOS (Linear Combination of Weighted Order Statistics) Filters

Abstract(in English) A LWOS filter is one of nonlinear filters which utilize rank- and temporal-order information. The LWOS filter is combination of L-filters and weighted median (WM) filters. In this paper, we propose data-dependent LWOS (DD-LWOS) filters based on local statistics, in order to restore the image corrupted by mixed noise. Several design examples are showing the good performance of the proposed filter.
