Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we propose an image retrieval system which searches an image database for similar images that a user imagined in his/her mind without using any keywords In this method, the system shows a user some sample images generated with respect to several feature values, and then the user answers their similarity to his/her target image. Based on the user's responses, the system reduces the feature space to obtain the target images. First, we describe the feature space and the model of our image retrieval system. Then, we propose an interval reduction method in one dimension, which is then extended to multi-dimensional case Finally, experimental results of the proposed system are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
