Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Over the years, a number of step-tunable medium power gyrotrons(Gyrotron FU Series)covering a wide frequency range(38 GHz~889 GHz)have been developed at Fukui University. Among the achievements of these device is the complete cw operation demonstrated by Gyrotron FU IV at power level P~20 W and frequencies f<301 GHz. The gyrotrons have already been applied in a number of experiments for plasma diagnostics and high-frequency ESR spectroscopy. In order to improve further the overall performance of these devices and widen their applicability as effective power sources we are developing a new system for stabilization of generated radiation based on a feedback control. The development of a transmission line for conversion of the gyrotron output into a Gaussian beam is in progress as well.
