Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) C-band 400W, 750W and 2.25kW high efficiency TWT(Traveling Wave Tube) series have been developed for ground terminal amplifiers of the satellite communications, which is the key component in the information superhighway. Improvement of overall efficiency from 30% to 40% has been obtained with changing the collector from single to dual stages to decrease collector dissipation. And the volume of each TWT have reduced to approximately 40%. Furthermore, these TWTs have an advantage of micro-discharge free to provide bit-error free performance in digital communications.
