A Real-Time MP3 encoder design with ARM IP

Abstract(in English) This paper describes the design of a real-time MPEG-1 Layer III encoder to be implemented on a single chip. The IP-based design methodology which is recently emerging on the water is applied to the design of a real-time MP3 encoder. The ARM7TDMI RISC processor is selected as IP to design a real-time MP3 encoder. We analyze the encoding time of MP3 algorithm which wins much populaity nowadays and make the target board with ARM7TDMI test chip. In this paper, we explain the requirement for real-time MP3 encoder implementation and design methodology with ARM7TDMI core.
