Abstract(in English) | A new scaling law is derived for gyrotrons with a single stage depressed collector and applied to mode selection for 170 GHz,1MW tubes.The nonlinear model,of the interaction between the beam and RF field derived by MIT is extended to include the effect of collector potential depression(CPD).The efficiency with CPD is numerically analyzed for a Gauss-sinusoidal axial field profle,and is expressed as a function of the normalized amplitude of an RF electric field and the normalized cavity length.Constraints that are considered for the mode selection include ohmic heaing of the walls and energy balance in the cavity. |
