A consideration on InP-semiconductor-based 2-dimensional photonic crystal

Abstract(in English) The photonic crystal is a kind of periodic microstructure of semiconductors.It is of great interest since it has a possibility for the absolute control of light emission and propagation in photonic devices.However,to apply this to actual devices,submicron range processing techniques and the reduction of nonradiative surface recombination will be crucial.To overcome these problems and realize 2-dimensional photonic crystal,we employed the anodization etching of InP semiconductors.This method enables the automatic formation of such submicron structures and maintains the strong photoluminescence intensity even after the etching.In this report,we present the expenmental results of the anodization and show the numerical results of photonic bands to discuss the possibility of spontaneous emission control effect in this structure.
