Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Layer-by-layer sequential adsorption technique is the wet-process, which can control film thickness with mano meter scale order. Recently, many studies on the organic EL devices fabricated by this process are reported. In this paper, poly(p-phenylene vinylene)(PPV) thin film structure is optimized by changing the solution pH during the layer-by-layer sequential adsorption process and the EL characteristics by changing the film structure was studied. Luminescence intensity of PPV film fabricated at pH2.5 is 64cd.m^2 and that of PPV film fabricated at pH4.5 is 38cd/m^2. We consider that this is because the polyelectrolyte film fabricated at pH2.5 has flat, straight structure, on the other hand the film fabricated at pH4.5 has porous, loopy structure.
