Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Nickel-Metal Hydride battery is an attractive battery as a new generation backup power supply for telecommunications because it has higher energy-density than Ni/Cd or leadacid batteries. However it has problems of capacity degradation at high temperatures and through overcharging. We succeeded in extending the temperature range (0 to 60℃) and the lifetime (7.5years at 30℃) by optimizing the content of the electrode and electrolyte, weight balance between cathode and anode, and charging method.
